Essendon has met with Richmond father-son prospect Maurice Rioli jnr, according to AFL Media's Callum Twomey.

The Bombers are believed to weighing up bids on a number of Academy and father-son prospects in Wednesday's AFL Draft, with Rioli tied to the Bombers through their Next Generation Academy.

The Northern Territory product nominated Richmond as his preferred club of choice, while Essendon and Fremantle are both linked to the highly-touted teenager.

A move to Punt Road would see Maurice jnr join his cousin Daniel Rioli at the Tigers, with his dream move now in some danger as the Bombers express further interest.

According to Twomey the Tigers are hoping Rioli lands at their final selection of Wednesday's draft with no rival club bidding on the son of a gun.

The Bombers have also been linked to Braeden Campbell and Reef McInnes,l who are Academy players linked to Sydney and Collingwood respectively.

The duo are both highly regarded and are likely to go in the first round, where Essendon hold three picks.
