Essendon coach James Hird has been discharged from hospital after being cleared of serious damage this morning.
The club released a short statement saying that Hird is in "good spirits and will continue to rest up at home today."
Essendon expects Hird to be fit to coach the Bombers on Friday night against North Melbourne, but will make a statement after further assessment tomorrow.
