Two young Pies have recommitted to the black and white, with Josh Daicos and Finlay Macrae signing new two-year deals with the club.

Daicos, who made his debut in 2017, was selected by the Pies with pick no. 57 in the 2016 AFL draft and has since played 67 games. Brother of fellow Pie, Nick, Daicos has been averaging 20.1 disposals and 2.1 tackles across 15 games in 2022.

Macrae has played just one game for the Pies this season after an impressive debut year in 2021, after being selected with pick 19 in the 2020 AFL draft.

Playing the majority of 2022 at VFL level, Macrae has been averaging 22 disposals per game.

Graham Wright, Collingwood's general manager of football, said the club was looking forward to watching the two young Pies continue to develop.

“Josh has been in career-best form in 2022 across the wing and half-forward and at 23-years-old is an important part of our future, we’re wrapped he’s agreed to a new two-year deal that will take him out to 2024”, Wright said.

“Although Fin has found it difficult to break into our AFL team, we’ve been more than happy with his development as an inside mid. Fin is hard-working, diligent and committed to his own development which we’re convinced will see him push into the AFL team in the near future.”

Daicos and Macrae join Darcy Moore, Isaac Quaynor and Darcy Cameron, among others, as 2022 re-signings at Collingwood.
