Ex AFL footballer Trent Dennis-Lane will dive head first into a new role in 2023, coaching NAB League side, the Western Jets, in a full time job sitting at the helm of the U19 development team.

The next chapter for the 34 year-old comes after a long stint working with the younger generation at St Kilda, following his playing days wearing the red white and black after moving from Sydney.

Dennis-Lane played 29 games across his career at both clubs, spanning a handful of years in the league, opting to head down the path of coaching in retirement and ply his trade teaching the game to the next crop of talent.

Dennis-Lane was full of praise in acknowledging the opportunities handed to him along his journey working his way up the ranks, paying respect to those organisations that have created a space to facilitate learning.

In a message on social media platform Linkedin, Dennis-Lane expressed his gratefulness towards St Kilda in "igniting my passion for elite pathways and development of youth trying to get drafted."

The thanks was further extended to Sandringham where Dennis-Lane expressed his gratitude in his ability to be able to "hone my craft" at the Zebras, as well as at the Bonbeach Sharks.

The Jets managed just four wins in a sub-par year in 2022, leading to a change of the guard in the top top, hoping Dennis-Lane will be able to guide the club back up the ladder for a finals berth next season.
