Top Tasmania Devils AFL Draft prospect Hugh McCallum's season is over due to an ACL rupture, Zero Hanger can reveal.
McCallum suffered the injury a fortnight ago playing school footy for Guildford Young College.
The Clarence teenager is the Devils' clear standout prospect in this year's draft class, with his start to the season putting him in first round considerations.
He is the brother of former Port Adelaide-listed defender Tom McCallum and remains a very good chance of finding an AFL home given where he currently sits in calculations.
He has played his best footy on the wing in 2026 but has traits transferrable to most positions as a 181cm talent.

“He's gone from strength to strength, built off the back of his running capacity and ability to cover the ground is clearly his strength,” Tassie Under-18s coach and Allies coach Scott Moore told Zero Hanger earlier this month.
“He's got a great understanding and willingness to learn what's required for that wing role and has the flexibility to play from half-back to half forward as well.
“He can sneak forward and hit the scoreboard and slides support defensively. He's going well.
“He's clean and got a nice kick so he's growing. The growth in his positioning, holding shape have continued to grow. His IQ and willingness to apply his learnings in game are really key. There has been great growth in his running patterns, positioning and willingness to move the ball forward.”
