It's a sombre day, is ANZAC Day.

A day Australians come together to recall with reverence of the sacrifices of the men and women who have served this country.

Since 1995, two of of the nation's biggest sporting clubs have gone head to head on April 25th, serving up countless classics to do their part in honouring the servicemen and women the day celebrates.

It is simply impossible to not include the career of the five-time day, five-time night premiership winner, and beloved cult hero, Dermott Brereton.

Sure, he was past his prime by the time he donned the famous black and white on this great day, but a career defined by eye-watering team success and a reckless courage when attacking the ball and the man means "Dermie" is an instant inclusion.
