For footballing fanatics, the annual trade period is like Christmas - only with recycled toys.

The exchanged athletes may not come brand new in the box or with all of their working parts, but with careers that have already commenced and with runs on the board at previous clubs, most are known quantities.

Many of the names that will find themselves at new homes in 2021 have expressed a desire for a new start. Whilst others have been shopped and shipped against their wishes.

Irrespective of how they've found themselves on the verge of a filling a new locker and guernsey, they have been secured by their latest club to fill a need.

Some players on this list may not be the extravagant of those swapped across the last fortnight. However, they are those best equipped to have their new fans beaming from the get-go.

1. Jeremy Cameron

Following his Coleman medal winning season the year prior, Jeremy Cameron spent 2020 in a Giants forward line with less stability than jelly.

Although the Dartmoor deadeye's goal tally plummeted from 76 to 24, much of the blame for this trough should be directed elsewhere.

Cameron spent large portions of the season isolated from a secondary GWS tall forward, as coach Leon Cameron often sent Jeremy Finlayson up the field roaming and Harry Himmelberg behind the ball.

The delivery that Cameron received must also be scrutinised due to 67% of his shots on goal coming from outside fifty or deep in the pocket. The 27-year-old also took three set shots from the goal square in 2019 as opposed to zero this year.

Having departed this chaotic scenario, leaving Jesse Hogan to pick up the pieces, Cameron will spend next season alongside the man that copied his Coleman winning ways in 2020 – Tom Hawkins.

Some pundits may feel that the Cat's forward line may be a tad crowded with these twin pillars calling the forward arc home, however, one statistic puts paid to this theory immediately.

Hawkins' ability to share the ball with his fellow offensive teammates should never go unnoticed. In 2020, the baby-faced big man not only had time to top the league with 49 majors, but he also racked up 23 goal assists.

Pair this number with another 23 contributions from Patrick Dangerfield and it appears likely that with this service, Cameron's 2020 nadir is likely to be just a single season aberration.
