More AFL draft prospects will join state-league clubs this weekend in a bid to improve their chances of joining the top-flight competition.
Archie Van Dyk leads the group of six who will feature in the VFL, SANFL and WAFL, playing for South Adelaide.
Van Dyk returned to the Under-18s in Round 15 against Glenelg, producing an outstanding performance that earned him the AAMI Talent League MVP for the round. He collected 36 disposals, 15 clearances and kicked a goal.
"He was straight into it. His ability around the ball to win contests is just awesome," Brett Hudson, Souths Talent League coach told Zero Hanger.
"Archie is one who sees the game so much earlier than others and is able to read the game and get to where the ball will be. He finds the footy on the inside and if he wasn't injured, he would have worked more on getting involved in offence on the outside. To come back and have 36 touches and 15 clearances shows he can come back and impact at any level."
Western Australian guns Heath Mellody and George Gale are both lining up for Claremont in the WAFL as they prepare for a clash with the Subiaco Lions in front of a home crowd.
Richmond will unveil next-generation academy (NGA) prospect Tanner Armstrong in the VFL.
Armstrong has been a member of the academy for five years, developing his game under the tutelage of the Tigers program. A 177cm tough, hard-bodied midfielder, Armstrong is set to provide grunt, intensity and ball-winning ability to the reserves side on Saturday against St Kilda.
Father-son prospect Sam Harris will also get an opportunity to line up for North Melbourne after showing his ball-winning ability for Calder Cannons and Vic Metro as a midfielder-forward this season.
Dandenong captain Gus Kennedy will don the black and white for Collingwood on Saturday against Port Melbourne.
Kennedy follows fellow draft prospect Clancy Snell in playing for the Pies in the VFL.
The quintet joins a host of youngsters attempting to make their mark in the state-league competitions, such as Snell (Collingwood), Khaled El Souki (Western Bulldogs), Dougie Cochrane (Port Adelaide), Jake Eime (Adelaide), Anthony Long (Crows NGA for Adelaide), Leo Steed (Swan Districts), Harvey Spawton-Guy (West Perth), Garrison Kenh, Lucas Robinson (Fremantle NGA playing for South Freo), Cody Walker (Carlon), Blake Justice (Ess NGA at Essendon), Dandenong defender Darcy Szerszyn at North Melbourne, top 10 prospect Mitch Harris and overaged forward Jack Slattery (Woodville-West Torrens).
