While players, coaches and umpires often steal the spotlight, cheer squads are the volunteers who work tirelessly to help create the atmosphere that makes the AFL special.
Dedicated volunteers spend countless hours creating banners, cheering their hearts out and supporting their club through the rollercoaster that is a season.
While every club has volunteers working behind the scenes, these cheer squads stand out. One thing is certain: AFL cheer squads are the heartbeat of the game as they travel across the country and stand behind their clubs through the highs and lows.
Here is the ranking of AFL cheer squads:
10Hawthorn
Hawthorn's cheer squad has remained strong through the club's rebuilding years. They are known for consistently creating a strong presence at games. They also enjoyed seeing four premierships in eight seasons, so perhaps they have been spoilt. Sorry, Hawthorn fans, tenth may be harsh, but after winning all those premierships, it's time to share.
