While Fremantle have been back on the winner's list across the past month, the Dockers hold claim to the unwanted record of having the most 50-metre penalties paid against them so far in 2023.

After 11 rounds and ahead of the byes the Dockers have conceded 15 50m penalties for an average of 1.36 per game, with the next highest being Gold Coast (14 total, average of 1.27) - coming ahead of Port Adelaide and St Kilda who both have 13 for the year so far, averaging 1.18 per match.

A total of 184 50m penalties have been paid across the 99 matches played to this point of the season, equating to 1.86 penalties per game across the league.

The Suns have been in the umpires' good books when it comes to 50m penalties, conceding just the five for the year so far. That tally wouldn't have stopped Stuart Dew's side from enduring a frustrating final term last Saturday as a late 50m penalty to the Dogs cut Gold Coast's winning margin late into the proceedings.

Their state rivals, Brisbane, could also be considered among the better-behaving sides this season, having conceded the second-fewest 50m penalties and sitting 16th in the competition for free kicks against.
