Brisbane coach Chris Fagan has drawn comparison between young forward Logan Morris and a Richmond premiership star.

Two-time premiership winner Morris kicked a career-high seven goals against Gold Coast, lifting him to 109 from 57 games.

"He just reads the play very well. He has footy sense, footy smarts. He reminds me of Jack Riewoldt. He might even be a better version - that will stir Jack up," Fagan quipped.

"Our ball movement helped him tonight because it was quicker and I also thought Ty Gallop's presence up there probably helped (Logan) as well. We haven't been able to play Ty in the forward line much this year."

Fagan added it was another step forward for Brisbane, which was fearless in a 31-point victory over Gold Coast which lifts its record to 7-6 after three consecutive losses, which have prompted questions about their hunger for a third straight flag.

"I thought we continued on our improvement from last week...It wasn't a characteristic Brisbane win because it wasn't high uncontested mark or anything like that, it was played in another way," Fagan noted.

"I was pleased with the way we were prepared to move the ball on tonight which I think has been lacking a little bit lately and funnily enough it led to use defending better.

"I like that we were brave enough to do that, that was the thing we focused on all week to energise the boys and keep the ball in motion and we got a result off the back of it."
