Defenders
Back Pocket - Sam Docherty (Carlton)
Having a career-year, Docherty continued his stellar form in 2017 with 31 touches, seven marks, four tackles and two goals with his versatility on full display.
Full Back - Alex Rance (Richmond)
Matching up on Cale Hooker, the Bomber had no room to breathe on Saturday night as the Tiger kept him goalless en route to gathering 19 touches, taking six marks and laying six tackles in Richmond's first win in four games.
His ability to read the play and play off his opponent gets more impressive each week.
Stats certainly don't do this guy's game justice, either.
Back Pocket - Zac Williams (Greater Western Sydney)
Was at his dashing best for the Giants on Sunday as the undermanned young guns upset the Eagles at home.
Williams was rewarded with 28 touches (78% efficiency), six clearances, four inside 50s and a goal for his hard, break-the-line running.
Half Back - Brandon Ellis (Richmond)
Ellis put in one of the best games of his career on Saturday night, providing the Tigers with clean use of the ball off half-back (30 touches, 90% efficiency) with his decision making also a feature in the win.
Centre Half Back - Jake Lever (Adelaide)
15 of Lever's 29 touches came through reading the play and intercepting Fremantle's forays forward as he managed to keep Cam McCarthy to just one goal and 10 touches in the contest.
Lever also managed 11 marks of his own in the 100-point rout.
Half Back - Callan Ward (Greater Western Sydney)
Ward led an undermanned Giants side from the front on Sunday as they overcame the Eagles for the first time in their history.
The co-captain finished with 33 touches, 10 clearances, six tackles and five marks to register a maximum 10 coaches votes for the game.
Midfielders
Wing - Matt Crouch (Adelaide)
Rory Sloane might get all the attention from fans and opponents but the Crouch brothers are more than adequate sidekicks in the Adelaide midfield.
Matt was adjudged best afield by the coaches on the weekend, doing work on the inside and outside of the contest. His 35 touches, six tackles, five clearances and five inside 50s were just reward for a fantastic Saturday night out.
Centre - Nathan Jones (Melbourne)
When the going gets tough, the tough get going.
The Dees were down by five goals in the third quarter with the game seemingly slipping away from them, before Jones stepped in. 12 touches, six score involvements - two goals of his own - four inside 50s, four marks and 234m gained was to show for his third quarter which sparked the Demons to go on an eight-goal unanswered run and eventually win them the game.
That quarter in itself was almost enough to get him in the team.
Wing - Bryce Gibbs (Carlton)
38 touches, six tackles, five clearancesย and three goals will get you in the best 22 on most weeks.
Gibbs was outstanding in a best on ground performance, despite his side going down.
Forwards
Half Forward - Shaun Burgoyne (Hawthorn)
Shaun Burgoyne is showing no signs of slowing down as he put in a vintage performance in Indigenous round last week.
19 of his 26 touches were contested - not bad forย a 34-year-old - as he added that to his five tackles, four marks, two goals and a thrilling away-from-home win over the Swans.
Centre Half Forward - Lance Franklin (Sydney)
Burgoyne's former teammate also starred on Friday night, with 16 touches, six marks, five goals and five inside 50s in a super performance from the mega-star.
Half Forward - Dustin Martin (Richmond)
Martin continued his dominance against the Bombers in recent times withย another 30-disposal performance in the Dreamtime at the 'G match.
He backed that up with six clearances, five marks, seven tackles, five inside 50s and a goal in a well-rounded performance.
Forward Pocket - ย Jeff Garlett (Melbourne)
Garlett turned up when the Demons needed him most on Saturday.
His forward pressure was immense - something Simon Goodwin will want to see on a weekly basis - as he booted five goals from his 24 touches as well as plucking eight marks and being involved in 13 scoring passages for the Dees in the come-from-behind victory.
Full Forward - Jake Stringer (Western Bulldogs)
Returning from injury, Stringer showed that he hasn't missed a step, kicking five goals in his side's easy win.
His ability in the air and on the ground was on show for all to see in a best on ground display. Dogs fans will want more of that from 'The Package' as we enter the second half of the season.
Forward Pocket -ย Jamie Elliot (Collingwood)
One of the Pies' best, Elliot was dangerous inside 50 all afternoon for the Pies.
He could've easily had more than the four goals he booted if not for some wayward kicking, but his haul came from eight marks and 14 touches, a pleasing sight for Collingwood fans.
Followers
Ruck - Matthew Kreuzer (Carlton)
Kreuzer continues to show us all what we've missed out on in recent years after winning his match up with North's Todd Goldstein with ease.
Around the ground, 'Kreuz' was a force as well, winning 18 disposals, nine tackles, five clearances and six inside 50s.
Ruck Rover - Rory Sloane (Adelaide)
Sloane reminded everyone why he's the Brownlow Medal favourite on the weekendย with a typical performance including 30 touches, 13 tackles and two goals.
Rover - Scott Pendlebury (Collingwood)
It was a gloomy old day in Melbourne, both in the skies and on the ground with some seriously average football on display at the 'G, but as always, the brightest star shone bright.
The Pies skipper was instrumental, adding his own touch ofย class with all of his 31 touches as his nine inside 50s eight tackles, seven clearances and three goal assists.
Interchange
Joel Selwood (Geelong)
The Cats skipper had a hand in everything on Thursday night - including the match-winning goal - as his 33 disposals (19 contested), eight inside 50s, six clearances and four tackles ensured the Cats would get the points at home.
Jared Polec (Port Adelaide)
Easily Port's best player on the night, Polec nabbed 29 disposals, seven marks, six rebound 50s and five tackles in a strong performance around the ground.
He might get more credit for his performancesย if the commentators learnt how to pronounce his name though.
Shaun Higgins (North Melbourne)
The former Dog has been a standout for the Roos in 2017 and he continued that form on Sunday with 27 touches, eight clearances, five tackles and two goals as North chalked up their fourth win of the season.
Trent Cotchin (Richmond)
Along with Martin, Cotchin was up there for best on ground on Saturday, as he racked up the touches with great effect.
31 touches (15 contested) in all, seven clearances and eight inside 50s for the Tigers skipper in an influential performance to get his side back on the winners list.
