The Sydney Swans have released further details on the recovery progress of five of their injured players.
Hayden McLean has now returned to team activities after dealing with groin pain. McLean, who kicked a career-high 27 goals in 2024, completed an individual rehabilitation program to manage the injury.
Fellow forward Logan McDonald will miss the upcoming match simulation session against GWS as he has still not begun football-specific drills. The focus of his recovery remains on his conditioning as he comes back from ankle surgery.
Jack Buller, who debuted for the Swans in Round 13 against Brisbane last season, suffered a shoulder setback at training last Wednesday. The second-year player's recovery is estimated to take 2-4 weeks.
Will Edwards' progress has been positive since having surgery on his fractured leg, now entering the conditioning phase of his recovery. The Swans stated he will resume team skills throughout February.
Lastly, first-round pick Jesse Dattoli will recommence running later this month as he deals with a stress issue in his back, currently completing a gym-based reconditioning phase.
The Swans will return to action on February 21 in a match simulation against the Giants at Tramway Oval.
