Sydney Swans CEO Tom Harley has denied rumours that he is linked to the vacant AFL Football Operations role.

The AFL is currently looking for a replacement as Andrew Dillon takes the reigns of CEO from Gillon McLachlan at season's end.

Speaking on Breakfast with Harf on Thursday morning, Harley was asked if he would consider the role if the opportunity presented itself.

"It's not something that's sort of front of mind at the moment," Harley said

"I was obviously linked to the process... I'm in on the Swans at the minute and getting us back on the winner's list."

Harley was also asked on his thoughts about mirroring the NBA Draft Lottery within the AFL.

The event includes all the teams who missed the NBA playoffs and participate in a lottery to determine the draft order.

"Equalisation is really important for our game and I think everyone understands that and the draft is probably one of the key mechanisms for that. I think the draft as it works right now works pretty well," Harley said

"I'd need some more convincing that the draft lottery works."

The Swans will be looking to get back on the winners list this weekend, taking on North Melbourne at Marvel Stadium on Saturday at 1:45pm (AEST)
