West Coast recruit Jack Redden has had minor surgery on his adductor.

Redden, who crossed from Brisbane to West Coast in last year's trade period, had adductor surgery in August and was expected to resume full training in January.

However, coach Adam Simpson revealed that Redden had minor surgery in a set back in his recovery, however, stopped short of naming a return date.

"I think we're over the hump, so hopefully he will be available for NAB Challenge.

"It's hard to predict, but at the moment without any hiccups I think he'll play some games."
