SURPRISE PACKETS

Shannon Hurn - WCE|DEF|$385,400 - 165 points

The West Coast captain had a ridiculous game which placed him as the highest point scorer of the round. Owned by just 0.9% of coaches, Hurn had 34 disposals at 91% efficiency and had 14 marks.

Liam Duggan - WCE|MID|$334,100 - 129 points

Another Eagle who surprised the SuperCoach community with his output on the weekend. It was his highest score by 40 points and would have made just the 0.7% of coaches who own him very happy.

Sam Gray - PA|MID|$404,100 - 126 points

Sam Gray has been a solid scorer this season, however, on the weekend he went big. Four goals and 25 disposals led to him breaking the three digit barrier for just the second time this year. Only 902 players have him in their side.

James Kelly - ESS|DEF/MID|$385,300 - 116 points

One of the elder statesman of the game reminded everyone that he still has what it takes. Kelly had 28 touches, 13 marks and seven tackles in the Bombers' thrashing of St Kilda. It backed up his 107-point performance from last round.

Alex Witherden - BL|DEF/MID|$263,800 - 109 points

Despite being owned by a large number of coaches (70,471) Witherden still qualifies as a surprise packet for this round just because of how good he was. Many thought his form would drop off after his first three games, however, it went the opposite way, cracking the 100-mark for the first time.

DISAPPOINTMENTS

Andy Otten - ADE|DEF|$334,100 - 46 points

Andy Otten has increased in value by an incredible $210.2K over the season, however, this week he struggled. He could only manage 10 disposals, four marks and did not kick a goal. A game that he and his owners would no doubt like to forget.

Max Gawn - MEL|RUC|$473,200 - 57 points

After returning from injury with a bang, Gawn has struggled, with his scores going down each week. This was by far the worst of his games since returning, as he could only manage 57 points. Sam Jacobs clearly won the ruck battle in that game.

Jack Steele - STK|MID/FWD|$419,300 - 59 points

Owned by 17.4% of coaches, Steele didn't have a great game. He could only manage 59 points in the heavy loss against Essendon. His 17 disposals came at an efficiency of just 65%, while he could only manage two marks.

Nic Newman - SYD|DEF|$431,000 - 64 points

A staple for many back-lines in SuperCoach, Newman had a slightly underwhelming night in round 17. His 16 disposals came at below 70% efficiency, while he only took three marks.

Alex Rance - RICH|DEF|$470,200 - 66 points

It was not a terrible day for Rance, however, coaches would have been disappointed with his score. He only had 13 disposals and three marks, while also giving away three free-kicks. Not ideal for the 13.4% of SuperCoach users who have him.
