Gold Coast star Matt Rowell is in the frame for selection this weekend as the Suns prepare to face Fremantle on Saturday.

Rowell has been sidelined with an MCL injury since Round 1 and will now be available to feature for the Suns at Optus Stadium.

“Matt’s done really well with his rehab and has been training with the group for the last couple of weeks,” SUNS Head Physiotherapist Lindsay Bull told the club website.

“He’ll train on Wednesday and be available for selection on the weekend which is really good news for Matt."

Rowell has played just the six games after shoulder and knee injuries have sidelined his early career.

The gun midfielder averages 21.25 disposals in full matches, which were played in shortened quarters.

The Suns will also welcome the returns of Jack Bowes and Sam Day, who have been battling hamstring and MCL injuries respectively.

“Sam’s going great as well. He’s been pretty similar to Matt all the way through and he’s been training with the group as well for the last couple of weeks,” Bull added.

“He’ll train on Wednesday as well and be available too.

Jack was going really well, he probably would have been available last week when the bye was on so he’s been training with the group."
