Fremantle's Kellie Gibson could miss the entire AFLW season after injuring her hip flexor in a practice match on Saturday night.
After returning home to Perth after playing with Adelaide in the inaugural AFLW season, Gibson left the ground just a few minutes after halftime against her former side and is now expected to miss 6-8 weeks with the injury.
Fremantle had high hopes for their 21-year-old recruit this season and despite recording a 12-point win on the night, their injury list grew throughout the night as Beatrice Devlyn went down with a broken finger.
The rookie copped a knock in the second quarter and will miss 4-6 weeks with the injury.
Devlyn and Gibson join Kiara Bowers and Kirby Bentley on the sidelines as Bowers continues her recovery from a knee reconstruction while Bentley is out for the season with a torn meniscus.
Lisa Webb and Jade De Melo will be promoted from the club's rookie list as cover for the injured duo.
