St Kilda ruckman Rowan Marshall is set to boycott the club's best-and-fairest awards night on Monday as a protest to demonstrate his unhappiness towards the Saints.

Marshall is reported, by SEN, to be annoyed with how the club is responding to his trade request and subsequent dealings with Geelong.

The gun ruck is said to feel undervalued by the Saints and that it would be disingenuous of him to attend the night while he is desperate to leave the club.

The 30-year-old requested a trade last off-season, but that was denied by the Saints.

It has been reported that St Kilda president Andrew Bassat told Marshall last year the Saints would accommodate a trade for the right price if he still wanted to leave the bayside club 12 months on.

Marshall has since requested a trade for a second straight season and is keen to get to the Cats, but the Saints are playing hard ball at the trade table.

St Kilda is said to be keen to keep Marshall and believes that it plays its best football with both he and Tom De Koning in the same side.

The Saints have asked for Pick 14 and 2025 first round draftee Harley Barker from Geelong, which was quickly shut down.

St Kilda also asked for a straight swap of Marshall for star Geelong defender Lawson Humphries (23 years of age). This was also quickly denied by the Cats.

Marshall is contracted until the end of 2027 and has played 177 games for the Saints.
