Jack Billings and Adam Cerra's futures remain still firmly in the air as the duo head towards the free agency market.
Both Cerra and Billings could be set to depart their current clubs with Cerra looking ever more likely to return home to Victoria.
The 21-year-old midfielder has an offer on the table from Fremantle but is yet to decide on his future. Every passing day would be giving Fremantle fans and officials more reason to panic.
Billings is a bit of an unknown. There's no standout reason for him to leave the Saints nor is there a major reason for the Saints to let him walk.
But with Billings falling ever more behind some of the elite players of his draft class there's a sense both parties would benefit from a parting of ways.
Fox Sports reporter Tom Morris has given an update on the duo who have attracted outside interest. Morris is reporting that at least one big Victorian club are in the hunt for Cerra.
โHeโs in limbo. Victorian clubs expect him to come home. Theyโre not quite sure where, but I think Carltonโs very much in the mix here. Freoโs offer is $750,000 across four years,โ said Morris.
Meanwhile, Morris believes there is still a lot of water to go under the bridge before any decision is made regarding Billings.
Morris says that the Saints will be weighing up what compensation they may be able to secure for the former number three draft pick.
โHeโs in limbo. This depends on whether St Kilda can get a first-round pick as compensation or not in return," reported Morris.
"North Melbourne is where his good friend Luke McDonald plays, he went for Essendon when he grew up โ but heโs not contracted for next year. So this still ha plenty more to play out.โ
Cerra has been heavily linked with a move home all year with reigning premiers Richmond reportedly being keen to land the young star.
Peter Sumich said a few weeks ago that the Tigers were interested in bringing Cerra home.
โIโm hearing Richmond is into Adam Cerra without any trade [for out-of-contract Richmond forward Shai Bolton coming back the other way]โ, Sumich toldย SEN WA Drive.
Meanwhile, SENโs Sam Edmund said on SEN Breakfast recently that rival clubs have informed him Cerra is โhighly, highly likely to come home to Victoria,โ naming Essendonย andย Carltonย as the two clubs with the most interest.
