St Kilda has made a late play for Port Adelaide defender Logan Austin.

Austin, who is contract for 2018, has requested a trade to the Saints in search for further opportunities, with St Kilda promising him more game time for the youngster.

The 22-year-old has managed 13 games in two years, including just two this season.

He was selected with pick No.69 in the 2014 National Draft.

Austin is one of three Port players who could find new homes on deadline day, with Matthew Lobbe expected to join Brisbane and forward Aaron Young expected to complete a trade to the Gold Coast Suns.

It has already been an incredibly busy trade period for the Power, who have brought in Jack Watts, Steven Motlop and Tom Rockliff, while losing  Jarman Impey to Hawthorn, Brendon Ah Chee to West Coast and Jackson Trengove to the Western Bulldogs.
