St Kilda forward Jack Billings has been ruled out of Friday’s AFLX in Melbourne after suffering a hamstring issue during last week’s match simulation.

Billings trained on Monday, completing a running session, however he was restricted, with the club opting not to risk their star forward in their first competitive hit out of 2018.

St Kilda’s JLT Community Series kicks off against Carlton at Ikon Park on February 28 with the Saints optimistic about Billings’ fitness for the clash.

The 22-year-old is set to spend more time in the midfield this season after a breakout 2017 season.
