5. Backs

Back Pocket - Dylan Roberton (St Kilda)

Roberton is having an outstanding year and he continued that against the Cats on Sunday. His ball use out of defence enabled the Saints to transition well into their forward half as he finished with 28 touches, 11 rebounds from his defensive 50 and nine marks in the defeat.

Full Back - James Frawley (Hawthorn)

Keeping Josh Kennedy quiet is no easy task but Frawley managed exactly that on Sunday afternoon. He kept the Eagles flyer to just one goal and collected 18 touches and seven marks of his own as Hawthorn turned back the clock a little at the 'G.

Back Pocket - Michael Hibberd (Melbourne)

In his first game for over 18 months, Hibberd looked as though he hadn't missed a beat by gathering 27 touches (13 intercept), taking six marks and kicking a goal in his Melbourne debut.

Half Back - Rory Laird (Adelaide)

A key cog in Adelaide's slingshot play, Laird was brilliant against the Suns, notching up 33 touches, grabbing seven marks and registering four inside 50s in the Crows' easy win.

Centre Half Back - Michael Hurley (Essendon)

After a slow-ish start to 2017, Hurley was back to his best on Anzac Day as he shut down multiple opponents and was clean with his disposal from defence on an ugly Melbourne day.

Half Back - Jason Johannisen (Western Bulldogs)

When the game was in the balance, this man stepped up. He was everywhere when the Lions tried to go forward, finishing with 28 touches, six inside 50s, three clearances and a goal.
