Backs

Back Pocket - Zac Williams (GWS)

Williams gained almost 450m for the Giants out of defence as he amassed 25 touches at an impressive 80% efficiency rate. His pressure was also immense on the Dogs' forwards with six tackles.

Full Back - Lynden Dunn (Collingwood)

The former Demon took over Ben Reid's role as manning the opposition's number one forward and did so with great success. Dunn held in-form Tom Hawkins to just one goal for the game and did more than hold his own against the power forward.

Back Pocket - Dylan Roberton (St Kilda)

Is this guy the most in-form Saint at the moment?

Roberton's 2017 is off to a flyer as he collected 29 touches and snuck forward for two goals in the Saints' demolition of Hawthorn. He also gained 610m - the most of anyone on the ground.

Half Back - Rory Laird (Adelaide)

797 metres gained (league best) from 34 disposals at 94.1% efficiency. That's automatic selection in any side.

Laird is a huge reason why Adelaide's attack has been so potent in 2017 with his ball use off half-back.

Centre Half Back - Jeremy McGovern (West Coast)

McGovern led the league in round six with 17 intercept possessions while he also gathered 13 marks and had nine one percenters. His ability to play at either end of the ground is a great attribute for the Eagles with his knack for reading the play a key for the side.

Half back - Tom McDonald (Melbourne)

In a game where the tape should be burnt for eternity, Tom McDonald was a standout in an otherwise ugly display of football.

When he wasn't piecing together the Demons' fallen ruck department, he was repelling most of Essendon's forays forward as he finished with 26 touches, 12 marks and four inside 50s.

Midfield

Wing - Taylor Adams (Collingwood)

The Pies' midfield unit worked as well as they ever have against the Cats and Taylor Adams reaped the rewards with 36 touches, eight marks, eight tackles and six inside 50s for his efforts.

Centre - Gary Ablett (Gold Coast)

Did we really, really doubt this guy?

The Suns might've lost but this guy could not have done any more.

45 disposals (27 contested!), 18 clearances (career high), 10 inside 50s, nine tackles and a goal in an individual performance for the ages.

Wing - Jack Steven (St Kilda)

The new leader of the Saints' midfield, Steven was everywhere on Saturday afternoon as he gathered 36 touches, eight tackles, five inside 50s and four clearances as they simply bullied the Hawks in the contest.

Forwards

Half Forward - Chad Wingard (Port Adelaide)

It's unusual to see 'The Chad' not amongst the goal kickers when Port Adelaide puts 150 points on the board but as he played more up the ground, his influence on the game was just as profound.

31 touches at over 80% efficiency to go along with seven clearances and seven inside 50s for one of the game's most exciting players.

Centre Half Forward - Josh Kennedy (West Coast)

The All-Australian forward was back to his best on Saturday night, claiming the medal for best on ground with a bag of six goals from his 17 touches and 11 marks.

Half Forward - Charlie Dixon (Port Adelaide)

In one of his best games for Port, Dixon had a fantastic all around performance as the Power thumped the Lions.

Dixon collected 20 touches (10 contested), gathered 12 marks (seven inside 50) and booted four goals in a hard-working effort.

Forward Pocket - Matthew Wright (Carlton)

Wright was arguably best on ground on Saturday afternoon, booting four goals from his 15 touches and laid five tackles with fantastic pressure inside Carlton's 50.

As the Blues gained the ascendancy in the second half, Wright kicked three goals in the quarter to put the game firmly in Carlton's grasp.

Full Forward - Ben Brown (North Melbourne)

One man who always gives it his all for North, Brown turned in a career-best performance against the Suns, booting six goals from his 17 touches and eight marks, providing a crucial presence up forward for the Roos.

Forward Pocket - Nick Riewoldt (St Kilda)

The man they call 'Roo' has shown no signs of slowing down in 2017 as he turned in another vintage performance in the Saints' big win over Hawthorn.

20 touches, eight marks and four goals for the superstar in a game where he kicked his 700th career goal.

Followers

Ruck - Sam Jacobs (Adelaide)

Big game from Adelaide's biggest man.

Jacobs totally dominated the ruck contest with 50 hit outs but also used his disposal to great effect, linking up with his in-form midfielders to great effect with 26 disposals and eight inside 50s and a goal.

Ruck Rover - Scott Pendlebury

The Pies bounced back from their Anzac Day disappointment in emphatic fashion, led by their skipper who collected 33 touches (11 contested), nine tackles, six inside 50s, six marks and a goal in their best performance of 2017.

Rover - Rory Sloane (Adelaide)

He isn't the Brownlow favourite for no reason.

Sloane gathered 33 touches, eight marks, eight tackles and slotted three goals as the league's hottest team continued on their merry way.

Interchange

Marcus Bontempelli (Western Bulldogs)

Much like the Dogs, The Bont worked his way into the game to eventually finished with 22 touches, seven tackles, four inside 50s and three goals, despite it not being enough to lift his side over the line.

Elliot Yeo (West Coast)

Once again, Yeo was outstanding for the Eagles across halfback.

He was calm and composed with his 32 touches (11 intercept) of the Sherrin as he took a league-high 14 marks in round six.

Clayton Oliver (Melbourne)

The Dees' young gun was a class above most on Sunday afternoon, racking up 33 touches (88% efficiency), five clearances, five marks and laying five tackles in what turned out to be a comfortable win for Melbourne.

Matt Crouch (Adelaide)

Crouch backed up a stellar performance last week with 38 touches (15 contested), eight clearances, three tackles and a goal as he continues to thrive in Adelaide's midfield.
