Backs

Back Pocket - Nick Haynes (Greater Western Sydney)

Haynes' career-high 27-disposal game was influential in GWS' win, in particular their final quarter when they kicked away. Nine marks, nine rebound 50s and four inside 50s were the icing on the cake for the Giants defender.

Full Back - Lachie Henderson (Geelong)

It's not often the opposite skipper gets kept as quiet as Jarryd Roughead was on Monday. Henderson not only kept 'Roughy' scoreless but also minimised his impact up the ground. To make matters worse for the Hawks, Henderson had 19 touches and snagged a goal of his own.

Back Pocket - Rory Laird (Adelaide)

You could almost slot in Adelaide's entire 22 from Saturday night into this team, but for now, Rory Laird will start proceedings for the undefeated Crows. 36 touches at over 80% efficiency, Laird was instrumental in orchestrating Adelaide's run out of defence. He also found his way onto the scoresheet to top things off.

Half Back - Zach Tuohy (Geelong)

The former blue had his best game in his new colours this season collecting 22 touches at 82% while collecting six marks in defence. He remained a big reason why Hawthorn couldn't generate any constant pressure and provided good run off half back for the blue and white hoops.

Centre Half Back - Phil Davis (Greater Western Sydney)

Davis' 18 touches, four marks and four tackles isn't all that eye-catching however managing to keep Charlie Dixon quiet - the focal point of Port's attack - most certainly is. Davis also had four inside 50s and seven scoring involvements himself.

Half back - Elliot Yeo (West Coast)

Yeo has had arguably the most consistent opening month of anyone in the league and that continued on Thursday night as he racked up 29 touches at 89% efficiency. He also took 11 marks across half back.

Midfielders

Wing - Tom Scully (Greater Western Sydney)

Brisbane champion Jonathan Brown labelled Scully as "the best two-way player he's seen".

While that's a big call, Scully was superb on Saturday as the Giants pulled away from Port Adelaide, racking up 32 touches (11 contested) at over 90% efficiency, taking eight marks and recording seven clearances in the win.

Centre - Tom Rockliff (Brisbane)

Losing the Brisbane captaincy must've taken a weight off of Rockliff's shoulders because he has taken his game to another level this season.

He did a little bit (and in some cases, a lot) of everything on Sunday night as he amassed 33 touches (21 contested), had 15 clearances, laid 11 tackles, took eight marks and had five inside 50s in a dominant display in a losing effort.

Wing - Sebastian Ross (St Kilda)

St Kilda's third quarter blitz was led by this young gun who won 12 in the quarter to assert himself on the game. He would finish with 36 touches, seven marks, seven inside 50s and five clearances as the Saints moved to 2-2.

Forwards

Half Forward - Lachie Neale (Fremantle)

Following a quiet first half, Neale exploded in the third term and was part of the catalyst that led to the Dockers kicking nine unanswered goals that ultimately won them the game.

Neale's career-high four-goal haul coupled together with his 22 touches and six tackles led the way for Freo to cause an upset at the 'G.

Centre Half Forward - Taylor Walker (Adelaide)

Tex Walker's first half was as good as it got for a key forward as he booted five goals in a simply dominant effort. 10 scoring involvements on the night where he and his great mate Eddie had a night out.

Half Forward - Eddie Betts (Adelaide)

Is this guy the greatest small forward in AFL history? Maybe. Maybe not. But he's definitely the most consistent.

Like Tex, Betts had 10 scoring involvements, had 22 touches and booted six goals of his own including yet another special from his pocket.

Forward Pocket - Tom Lynch (Gold Coast)

Straight kicking is a dying art but Tom Lynch did his best to bring that back on Saturday night. Lynch kicked seven straight from his 12 marks as he led the Suns to an important away win over the Blues.

Full Forward - Jonathon Patton (Greater Western Sydney)

Patton had a traditional full forwards performance, booting a bag of six as he willed his side over the line.

The young star used his body superbly against the Power defenders as they had no answer for him in the final term.

Forward Pocket - Brandon Matera (Gold Coast)

Brandon Matera missed the Suns' opening two weeks and they lost. He comes back and they've won two in a row.

Coincidence? Somewhat, but he's been instrumental in both of the Suns' wins.

On Saturday night, he gathered 29 touches including nine marks and three goals as he was everywhere when the Suns eventually pulled away.

Followers

Ruckman - Aaron Sandilands (Fremantle)

In a winning side, Sandilands was simply dominant as he fed the ball to his midfielders time and time again. Max Gawn's injury made his life easier, but there's no doubting he made the most of it.

Ruck Rover - Luke Shuey (West Coast)

Inside or out, Shuey was there on Thursday night as he notched up 30 touches - a game high - taking eight marks, laying seven tackles, winning six clearances and kicking a goal as West Coast kept Sydney winless in 2017.

Rover - Rory Sloane (Adelaide)

This guy might not get all the headlines like some of the other elite, more glamourous players in the league but he's a superstar nonetheless.

On Saturday night as the Crows ran riot, he gathered 34 disposals, eight clearances, laid nine tackles and booted two goals in the onslaught.

Interchange

Luke Dahlhaus (Western Bulldogs)

Dahlhaus' 32 touches, six tackles and two goals came up big when the Dogs needed it most. His run and carry through the contest was pivotal as they scraped over the line.

David Mundy (Fremantle)

Mundy and Nat Fyfe rotated in roles, playing from the goal square at times in a tactic that worked a treat for Ross Lyon's men.

Mundy would finish with 23 touches, seven tackles and three goals as Freo got over the line.

Mitch Duncan (Geelong)

In a midfield that includes the likes of Patrick Dangerfield and Joel Selwood, it takes a fair bit to upstage those two but Duncan did just that on Monday afternoon with a 32-disposal, two-goal performance on Easter Monday.

Ben Cunnington (North Melbourne)

The Arden St hard-nut did everything he could to will the Roos over the line with 33 touches and 10 clearances but fell agonisingly short as North dropped to 0-4.
