Back Pocket: Luke Ryan (Fremantle)

Ryan is quietly becoming a very important player Fremantle, as they rely on his intercept marking and neat foot skills from half back. Ryan recorded 32 disposals, 16 intercept possessions, five marks and three tackles in their one point win.

Full Back: Harris Andrews (Brisbane)

Andrews had the job on Jesse Hogan and completed blanketed him, holding him to just eight handballs. He also recorded 15 disposals, ten marks and 11 intercept possessions.

Back Pocket: Nick Haynes (GWS)

Haynes strong season will have him in All Australian calculations come the end of the year. On the weekend, his intercept marking was a highlight, as he recorded 20 disposals, eight marks (5 intercepts) and 315 metres gained.

Half Back: Bachar Houli (Richmond)

At the age of 31 years old, Houli is putting together a career best season. On Saturday night, Houli recorded 37 disposals (28 kicks), 13 intercept possessions, six marks, five tackles and 814 metres gained.

Centre Half Back: Jordan Roughead (Collingwod)

Roughead had the big job on Lance Franklin and fought admirably, holding him to just six disposals and two goals.

Half Back: Darcy Byrne-Jones (Port Adelaide)

On a scrappy day in Launceston, Byrne-Jones’ class from half back stood out, as he recorded 28 disposals (72% efficiency), eight marks and six tackles.
