Rival clubs are reportedly prepared to "make a move" for Collingwood ace Jordan De Goey should they believe he's gettable for the right price.

De Goey is contracted at Collingwood until the end of the 2027 season, having turned his back on strong external interest in 2022 to ink a five-year extension.

The 29-year-old has had a mixed few years since, having helped lead the Magpies to a premiership the following year, before dealing with a series of injury setbacks.

De Goey was a pivotal player in Collingwood's 2023 Grand Final victory, but has played just the 24 games since, including 11 this year due to soft-tissue, concussion and Achilles issues.

While the Magpies midfield-forward livewire hasn't been raised in trade talks this year, clubs are reportedly of the view that Collingwood might "consider" a trade for the right deal.

Speaking on Trade Radio, reporter Tom Morris explained that while he holds doubt De Goey would be interested in leaving the Magpies, rivals are keeping tabs on his prospects as a potential trade option ahead of Wednesday's deadline.

"I'm convinced that if a club came with an excellent deal for Jordan De Goey, the Pies would consider that, speaking to rival clubs,"

"I think they would want a top 10 pick at least. A club like St Kilda, a club like Adelaide (would like De Goey type).

"I'm just watching this. It's nothing more than that. Don't think like I'm saying he's going to go or he wants out, or the Pies are trying to trade him.

"There's enough noise around it now to suggest that rival clubs would make a move if they believe they could get him out. It's a long shot, but I'm keeping a close eye on it."

Few clubs would be able to appease both Collingwood and De Goey, who would need a sizeable salary taken in any deal.

St Kilda, who have previously been keen suitors for the star Magpie, would need to dip into their future draft selections in any deal with Collingwood, given they sent Pick 7 to Gold Coast for Sam Flanders.

Adelaide is keen to bolster their midfield, but are tied up in talks with Brisbane to snare two-time premiership forward Callum Ah Chee this week.

Any exit for De Goey also looks unlikely given Collingwood's desire to strengthen their midfield, as shown by their recent interest in Melbourne's Clayton Oliver, Swan James Rowbottom and Roos skipper Jy Simpkin.
