Essendon District Football League (EDFL) club West Coburg has announced Richmond premiership player Brandon Ellis as their newest signing.
Ellis played 13 seasons in the AFL, spending eight years at the Tigers, where he won two premierships during the club's dynasty.
After securing his second flag, the former Pick 15 joined Gold Coast ahead of the 2020 season, adding 75 matches before announcing his retirement.
Ellis signed with the South Cairns Football Club in the AFL Cairns competition in 2025, but will return to Victoria.
"The biggest off-season signing in West Coburg history," the club statement said.
"Homegrown legend and two-time AFL Premiership player @brandonellis is coming home for Season 2026.
"The West Coburg President, Sam Farfoud flew to the Gold Coast, straight off the plane and into Brandon and Sarah's living room where Brandon put pen to paper.
"From the MCG to Shore Reserve, we can't wait to see Brandon Ellis back in the red, white and black."
