The Richmond Tigers have confirmed three players - Shai Bolton, Daniel Rioli and Liam Baker - have put in trade requests to play their football elsewhere in 2025.

Of the three, Bolton and Rioli are stgill contracted to the Tigers for next season, while Baker is uncontracted.

The Tigers have agreed to work through deals for all three players, with Bolton and Baker wishing to play in Western Australia, while Rioli wants to make a move happen to the Gold Coast Suns.

It's unclear at this stage whether the West Coast Eagles or Fremantle Dockers will make a play for the duo wishing to play in the west.

Bolton is contracted with the Tigers until at least the end of 2028, while Rioli is on contract until the end of 2027, with both players previously playing in premierships for the club.

Richmond general manager of football and performance Blair Hartley said the club would work through finding viable deals for the duo.

“Both Daniel and Shai have informed us of their requests for a trade during our end-of-season review process,” Hartley said in a statement confirming the news.

“Whilst we are disappointed, we have been in constant dialogue with both the players and their management throughout the course of the season.

“Out of respect to both players and their wishes, at the right time - we will open conversations with their clubs of choice.

“We will listen to what the clubs have to offer and determine whether or not we believe it is a viable trade and in the best interests of the Richmond Football Club.”

Meanwhile, Baker, 25, has also won two premierships with the Tigers and is the club's vice-captain, but wants to play in the west next season.

Hartley said that the club were disappointed, but will work closely with other clubs to ensure the Tigers are compensated for his departure.

“Liam has been a wonderful player for us and is someone we value very highly,” Hartley said.

“While we are disappointed that he has requested a trade away from the Club, we respect the reasons for his decision.

“We will work closely with potential suitors for Liam to ensure that we are fairly compensated.”

The Tigers finished at the bottom of the ladder this season, picking up the wooden spoon.

The AFL trade period commences on October 7.
