St Kilda assistant coach Robert Harvey has confirmed that key forward Max King is back in full training after recovering from his latest injury setback.
The talented King has had a horror run with injuries over the past two seasons with his knee, and most recently his hamstring, causing serious issues.
But King hopefully is now in the clear and has game time in his near future, according to Harvey.
"He's back full training with us now," Harvey said on SEN's Crunch Time on Sunday.
"It really is a good sight to see. He has worked so hard just to get himself back to a position where he can now put his hand up.
"Probably a week and a bit now full training with the group. We expect an imminent return for Max with the way he's moving, which is really pleasing."
Last time King played football was two games in the VFL earlier in the season. The second match was when he injured his hamstring leading for a mark.
Harvey said the club had not decided yet whether he would come straight back into the AFL line up.
"We haven't had that conversation," he said.
"It will be a conversation, obviously, but it's just good that he is now almost prepared to come back and play some footy, which is great."
King hasn't played a game since 2024 with major scrutiny falling on him and the club as he attempts to get his body right and career back on track.
Speaking on Seven's Agenda Setters, King opened up on how he deals with the criticism that comes his way.
"There's definitely times where you wrestle with (that) I am on a big contract, I want to be paying the club back and playing," King said.
"But also I don't think that's helpful to go down that rabbit hole. I am doing everything I can to get back as soon as I can and play good footy. That's all I can do really."
