Retired Carlton fan favourite Ed Curnow has linked up with Colac & District FNL side Lorne as the club's new senior coach.
Curnow steps into the role after calling time on his 221-game career with the Blues, who he joined after a short period with Adelaide and a strong spell with VFL outfit Box Hill over a decade ago.
Curnow would be a consistent piece for Carlton during his time at the club, playing at least a dozen games in all but one season to end his career with an average of 20.61 disposals, 4.93 tackles and 3.26 clearances per game.
The hard-nosed midfielder would be a strong finisher in a number of best and fairest counts at Princes Park, even earning podium finishes in three successive seasons from 2018-2020.
The 33-year-old played 17 games at AFL level under Michael Voss this year before deciding to retire, with his last game in the top flight coming against Gold Coast in Round 23.
The former Modewarre junior has returned to his local for 2024, where he'll coach Lorne and is likely to pull on the boots for the Dolphins.

"Ed has had a celebrated career at Carlton Football Club playing over 200 games of top level football.
"We welcome Ed, Emily and family to the Lorne Football Netball Club where we know the positive impact on our players, members and supporters will be immense."
Lorne won 11 of their 18 games in the CDFNL seniors in 2023, making their way to the second week of finals before falling out of contention.
