GWS midfielder Tom Scully reportedly wants to come back home to Victoria, and Hawthorn are set to be in the box seat for the 27-year-old.

Herald Sun journalist Sam Edmund told SEN Breakfast Scully wants to return home, and Hawthorn are right into the elite two-way runner.

“The big name that the Hawks are trying to get now, 100 per cent confirmed, is Tom Scully,” Edmund told SEN Breakfast.

“They are into him in a massive way. Take it to the bank.

“He wants to come home, but without being inside the club it’s hard to know how hellbent he is on it.

“It’s also hard to know how willing the Giants will be to get rid of him given they’ve lost Shiel, they’ve lost Lobb, they’ve lost Setterfield – how many players will they be prepared to lose?”

Sam McClure confirmed the news on Trade Radio, admitting Scully had already completed a medical with the Hawks, and the Giants were open to trading him.

McClure also suggested it looks likely the Hawks will now bring in Scully and Chad Wingard during the trade period.
