Channel Seven journalist Tom Browne believes officials and players of the Richmond Football Club have already met face-to-face with out-of-contract Gold Coast co-captain Tom Lynch.

Lynch is in Melbourne after having knee surgery over the past week, and will remain in his home state for another week before returning to the Gold Coast.

With Lynch ruled out for the remainder of the season, he may well have played his last game for the Suns, as Victorian clubs circle for the 25-year-old's signature.

Richmond are seen as one of the frontrunners, and Browne confirmed their meeting on Channel Seven on Saturday night.

"My best trade source today indicating that Richmond officials and some players had dinner with Lynch over the last week or so," Browne reported on Seven News on Saturday.

"In fairness to Lynch, sources close to Lynch are playing down that particular meeting, but clubs over the next week or so in my view, Collingwood, Hawthorn and Richmond, will definitely start to meet face-to-face with Lynch as he makes up his mind."

The Suns will press Lynch for an answer on his future when he returns to club headquarters next week.
