North Melbourne will reportedly abandon their search for a new head coach, and are set to announce Rhyce Shaw as the Kangaroos' next full-time coach in the coming weeks.

According to Mark Robinson in the Herald Sun, the Roos will stop their search for Brad Scott's successor, with Shaw having done enough to earn the position.

"The Kangas believe it would be detrimental to the players to introduce a third coach in the space of 13 weeks, if they were to pass on Shaw," Robinson wrote.

"That and the fact the players and key football club staff are totally convinced Shaw is the man for the job."

Since taking over from Scott, Shaw has overseen four wins and two losses, with North Melbourne now in 12th and two wins outside the eight.
