Fremantle star Nat Fyfe, along with Dustin Martin, is the hottest property in the AFL right now.

Fyfe, who will be a free agent at season's end, is yet to re-commit to the Dockers and is being chased by several clubs.

However, the number of clubs eyeing Fyfe reduced by one over the weekend, with reports St Kilda has dropped out of the race for the 2015 Brownlow Medalist.

Now we may know why. The Saints look to have given up on signing Fyfe due to his asking price of $1.5 million per season.

Triple M's Jay Clark, reported on Sunday that Fyfe is requesting $1.5 million from any Victorian club interested in luring away from Western Australia.

The price is such that Clark believes Fyfe will most likely remain at the Dockers.

"As I understand it, his asking price from a Victorian club's perspective is about $1.5 million," Clarky said.

"Having done a lot of research this week, no club, that I understand, is prepared to pay (that price).

"I am expecting him to be staying at Fremantle."

In his first year as Fremantle captain, Fyfe is not in quite as dynamic form as his Brownlow year of 2015, however, is still averaging an impressive 26.2 disposals per game in his return from a broken leg, which crippled his 2016 campaign.
