Adelaide Crows ruckman Sam Jacobs has reportedly agreed to join GWS on a two-year deal, according to Tim Watson.

Jacobs, 31, is out of contract and has reportedly met with his former club Carlton in recent weeks.

But it looks like this week's preliminary finalists have won the race to sign the 201-game veteran as they look to bolster their ruck stocks with Dawson Simpson retiring and number one ruckman Shane Mumford's future up in the air.

"You just wonder whether or not Mummy (Shane Mumford) is capable of going into another season," Watson told SEN Breakfast.

“I’m hearing that Sam Jacobs has agreed to a two-year deal at GWS.”

The Crows preferred ruckman this past season was Reilly O'Brien, who played 18 games compared to Jacobs' five.
