Geelong ruckman Zac Smith is set to return to the Suns, with AFL.com.au reporting the news on Monday morning.

Smith was a member of the Suns during their inaugural season, and played 65 games for the Suns across five seasons, before moving to Geelong at the end of the 2015 season.

The 29-year-old has gone on to play 50 games for the Cats, although only six of those came in his last two seasons.

It is believed Smith will return to Gold Coast to play, but will also have a role in development at the club post his football career.
