A trio of senior Essendon players are believed to have suffered injury concerns of some level at training on Saturday morning.
In a week where the Bombers won't play, instead scheduled for their mid-season bye, the Dons would've hoped to return from the break with a healthier list, having faced ongoing setbacks this season.
The Bombers are already without four players for the rest of the year, while Zah Reid (hamstring), Kyle Langford (quad), Mason Redman (calf), Ben McKay (foot), Harrison Jones (ankle) and Jordan Ridley (hamstring) all missed the club's last few matches.
To make matters worse, three Bombers players have reportedly picked up injury concerns at training, with the extent of those potential setbacks yet to be confirmed.
Speaking onย 3AW,ย reporter Caroline Wilson confirmed there is some concern surrounding Langford, Redman and midfielder Darcy Parish.
"We do have some breaking news. Someone contacted us from Essendon training earlier, the club is yet to confirm it," Wilson said.
"We know Essendon are going through a soft-tissue injury crisis... on top of everything they've copped this year, we're told that Darcy Parish has got some form of calf injury from training this morning, Mason Redman a [hamstring injury] and Kyle Langford a quad (injury).
"How serious those injuries are from this light training session? I don't know."
Parish has only played three games this year due to calf and back injuries, with his most recent appearance against Fremantle arguably his best since returning to Brad Scott's side.
Langford hasn't played since Round 11 due to his current injury, while further ailments have limited his campaign to six matches.
Redman's last game was Round 12, with the defender ruled out of his side's following match due to a calf issue.
The Bombers had hoped to potentially have Redman and Langford, as well as Ridley and Reid, back for next week's clash with Gold Coast.
Essendon are scheduled to host the Suns at Marvel Stadium next Saturday, with Scott's side looking to close their gap on the top eight.
