Essendon small forward Orazio Fantasia may still request a trade to return home to South Australia according to Fox Footy's Tom Morris.

It had been reported earlier in the year by AFL Media that Fantasia wished to return to his home in Adelaide, however, this story was quickly dismissed by the Bombers.

However, Morris told AFL Tonight a trade was still a possibility.

"Port Adelaide are circling very hard for him," said Morris.

"He hasn't delivered a trade request yet, but its not completely off the cards.

"It's absolutely a watch this space with Fantasia, he might be at Essendon next year, but I reckon there's a real chance he'll request a trade and Port Adelaide is at the front of the cue."

In huge news on Thursday, 7NEWS reported that Fantasia has parted ways with his agent Anthony McConville, which is adding fuel to the speculation on his next move.

Fantasia battled hip soreness for much of the 2019 season and has undergone surgery in recent weeks.

The 24-year-old started the season well for the Bombers, however form and injury issues derailed his season as he finished with 20 goals for the year.

Fantasia comes out of contract at the end of the 2021 season.
