Tasmania's entrance to the competition makes the 2027 out-of-contract list an interesting market.
As part of an array of list concessions, the Devils have the capacity to sign up to 18 out-of-contract players - one per club - across 2027 and 2028.
Concurrently, plenty of other clubs will be trying to lure the big names as the annual list build rigmarole takes place.

10Alix Tauru
There will be a watch on the Flying Viking if he does not put pen to paper by the middle of next year. Has not extended beyond the three-year base deal he received as a first-rounder, and while he has shown some promise, he hasn't been a consistent contributor at the top level, with some VFL games and suspension intertwined. As was noted widely late last year, he is managed by the same group as Leek Aleer, and the industry was scathing of the way Aleer was treated by the Saints last year after he had his offer withdrawn. While everyone will say that is unlikely to directly affect anything related to Tauru, it is still a notable tidbit. The Saints drafted him not only as a player to build the backline around but a marketable pin-up boy, so they will be desperate to hold onto him.
