As the 2026 AFL season comes to a close, we take a moment to reflect on the year and how the coaches have performed.

Some have had a leg up in terms of the strength of their list, while others have surprised the competition as first-timers.

3Steven King (Melbourne)

"Wonderful job.

"He's reinvigorated the Melbourne Football Club. The way they're going about their business is far more colourful when watching them compared to the back end of the Simon Goodwin era.

"So for me, to have this side in the top-four conversation, but certainly returning to finals football, is great to see."
