A gold No.10 sprawled across Scott Pendlebury's back doesn't do the Collingwood champion justice in a monumental milestone that will see him eclipse the V/AFL games record.

The AFL approved of the Pies' request for Pendlebury to don a gold digit on his back when he walks out for the 433rd time, which is tipped to be against West Coast in Round 11 at the MCG.

But could there have been better ways to honour the football icon with a basketball background?

In the NRLAlex Johnson broke the all-time try record in March, and returned to the field after he scored a try in a gold No.2 to celebrate the milestone.

North Melbourne champion Brent Harvey, when taking over Michael Tuck's games record, had '427' placed under the sternum of all Kangaroos players.

So what should the Pies consider for Pendles? Some may be tongue-in-cheek.

Classy, like Pendles

Something simple for Pendles that encapsulates the major milestone in a subtle way.
