In the fourth and final chapter of Zero Hanger's positional rankings for the final week leading up to the 2023 AFL Draft, we'll be counting down the five best midfielders on offer.

Victoria and Tasmania make up our list of the leading midfielders, who combine to offer both inside and outside hustle and a balance of speed, clean ball use, contested work and attacking traits.

All five midfielders could fetch a selection within the top 10 of next week's draft, while the No.1 onballer is destined to be the first name called on Monday night.

5. Caleb Windsor

Position: Midfielder
Height:
184cm
Weight: 76kg
State: Victoria
Club: Lysterfield

The Vic Metro midfielder was a key contributor in leading the Eastern Ranges to a grand final finish, with a strong second half to the year seeing Windsor emerge as a bonafide first-round prospect.

Is a pacey wingman who has speed on his side while also being a clean ball user by hand and foot to be an attacking X-Factor player - booting one goal in all of his last eight games in the Talent League.

Moved the ball at 75% efficiency at the National Championships this year from his 16-disposal average to rank as one of the leading distributors and outside midfielders on offer.

Will look comfortable at AFL level next year and is set to fetch high levels of interest at the opening night of the draft.

Kevin Sheehan says: A wingman with pace to burn. His preparedness to take the game on is a real weapon along with his decision making and ball use. Played all four games for Victoria Metro at the National Championships and was his team's best player in the loss to the Allies, while also shining with 22 disposals in the win over Western Australia.
