Adelaide captain Jordan Dawson has received a glowing endorsement in the wake of his match-winning performance against the Western Bulldogs.
The Crows skipper jumped out of the blocks in the first quarter, racking up eight disposals along with three goals, which set the Crows up to dominate the rest of the game.
Dawson's past month has put his name up on lights as one of the best players in the competition, and even as the leading captain of the AFL.
"Just watching him play the last month, but also admiring him for the last couple of years, I actually think he is the best captain in the competition," Daniel Harford said on the Six Points AFL podcast.
"Everyone knows what happened with his family in the last little while; tragically, his ability to get back has been quite something.
“He goes in the middle of the ground, he gets clearances when required, or rolls behind the footy as the spare and just be the springboard for the crows when needed.
"He goes forward like we saw against the Bulldogs on the weekend and kicked goals, he's so good, and he just lifts that team and considering what he's been through recently, it's quite phenomenal what he's been able to achieve.
“And I must admit, when the Swans traded him, I thought, he's a good player, but he's not that much, he has become a sensational player.”
Mark Stevens heaped similar praise for the Crows skipper.
“He drags people along, doesn't he? With him, there is no doubt, I also think his kicking, he kicks lasers, he's an old-fashioned straight head, straight up over the goal umpire's head, like Jason Dunstall used to kick, just lasers," Stevens said.
“When you look at Jordan Dawson, he's almost the perfect “pure footballer” if you like, there's nothing too flashy there, but he does everything so well, if you do a book on each skill, he ticks everything.”
