Kylie Minogue owned the big stage.
It was love at first sight for the adoring audience at the MCG as she belted out an array of her greatest tunes.
The rain got out of her way just in time, with a millimetre of rain falling in the hour leading up to her majestic and cathartic performance before clearing up as she took to the stage.
The first shot viewers at home saw was a young girl dressed as Charlene from former hit TV show Neighbours where Minogue established a reputation in the early years before all eyes were on the Princess of Pop.
Elevated for her first two songs, Love at First Sight and In Your Eyes, her delivery, surrounded by blue dancers had watchers in the palm of her hand.
The set was complete with a gigantic Sherrin emblazoned with Kylie which was the ideal headline of the perfect home coming.
Amid a tribal atmosphere which divides a stadium into three distinct supporter groups - a close game, Fremantle and Brisbane - everyone was united in cheering for Minogue in one of the most loved performances of recent times.
There was something for everyone with several songs including Spinning Around and On a Night Like This from 2000 and Padam Padam released in 2023.
Minogue kept fans waiting until the end for the much-anticipated Locomotion which hit the spot and had spectator singing along keenly as colourful dancers complemented her voice perfectly.
She finished with her classic, Can't get you out of my Head, performed on a remote-operated crane floating above the MCG which left fans wanting more and more.
Minogue shared the stage with William Barton as she belted out Confide in Me as part of a 20-minute energetic bonanza which went off without a hitch.
It came after G-Flip set the scene, with an excellent performance to lead in to the retiring players motorcade and Mike Brady's classic, Up there Cazaly.
And Minogue's introduction quoting Mike Brady was a beautiful touch which aligned with the day perfectly.
It was the best grand final pre-game entertainment of a generation.
