AFL journey and premiership winner Zaine Cordy has joined the coaching circuit in the local VAFA league, becoming the University Blacks senior coach.
Cordy joined the Uni Blacks 12 months ago as a player and has played a crucial role in developing their young talent.
The utility isn't immune to success, helping end the Western Bulldogs' premiership drought in 2016.
Cordy played for the Bulldogs for eight seasons and 118 games before moving to St Kilda for three years and 23 more matches.
“More importantly, we believe Zaine is a great fit for the Blacks and for where we want to take the playing group. He brings enormous experience, strong football knowledge and a real enthusiasm for coaching and developing our players," University Blacks President Pat Barry said.
“It's a fantastic appointment for the club and an exciting way to start building towards 2027.”
The Uni Blacks finished fifth in the premier division of the VAFA, securing eight wins but ultimately missing the finals.
Cordy's move to the VAFA club helped him land a job at a mortgage-broking firm.
