Collingwood star Steele Sidebottom has one hand on the Gary Ayres Award, after another best on ground performance in the Pies’ win over Richmond on Friday.

Sidebottom received eight out of a potential 10 votes, with Mason Cox and Taylor Adams grabbing seven each.

West Coast midfielder Jack Redden earned himself a perfect 10 votes after another strong performance this September, with the pair now the only players who can win the award.
