Port Adelaide is on the verge of making a captaincy announcement, with Ollie Wines and Tom Jonas set to replace Travis Boak in the role, according to SEN SAย Breakfast host Kane Cornes.
The former Power midfielder believes the Port will follow cross-town rivals Adelaide in announcing dual captains for the 2019 season.
"I think, and I've said it since Boak stood down, it will be dual captains," Cornes toldย SEN SA Breakfast.
"I'm pretty firm on that. I think that is more than likely to happen and I expect it to be Ollie Wines and Tom Jonas."
"That'll be announced probably late February I'd imagine.
"I think they are 95 per cent convinced of the model.
"Port is a club with such strong history and tradition and the (captain getting the) number one guernsey has always been pretty important.
"I think the hold up has been speaking to the key stakeholder and the board and working out what they do."
Boak stood down as captain late last year, after five seasons in the role.
With 2 Number 1’s on the field, there may have to be a count?
