Young Port Adelaide forward Mitch Georgiades has reportedly signed a four-year contract extension with the Power, taking him to free agency at the cessation of his new deal.

Georgiades has been viewed as a target for Western Australian and Victorian clubs looking to bolster their attacking packs, with the 21-year-old coming off-contract in 2023 and falling out of favour at Alberton in the early rounds of the year.

The Subiaco junior would play in the Power's opening two games of this season for a return of two goals before being demoted to the club's SANFL side as tall quartet Todd Marshall, Jeremy Finlayson, Charlie Dixon, and Round 6 debutant Ollie Lord gained selection preference.

Georgiades would suffer a season-ending knee injury in his third game at the state league level for the year, hampering his fourth campaign at Port Adelaide after booting 55 goals over his prior two seasons.

The emerging forward has now looked to repay the club, with 7 News Perth's Ryan Daniels reporting a deal has been signed by Georgiades that will lock the young Western Australian until the end of the 2027 season.

That deal will take Georgiades to the end of his eighth season with the Power and, therefore make him eligible for free agency, where he will again likely be in the sights of rivals again, should he opt not to recommit further by then.

Georgiades has played 49 AFL games for a return of 65 career goals since joining the Power as the 18th overall pick in the 2019 National Draft.

His signature adds to a wealthy year of re-signings for Port Adelaide, who managed to stave off high levels of interest for defender Miles Bergman before the backman inked a two-year extension.

Jase Burgoyne (2025), Kane Farrell (2025), Ollie Lord (2024), Jed McEntee (2025), Trent McKenzie (2024), Sam Powell-Pepper (2025) and Dylan Williams (2025) have also re-signed for the coming seasons.
