Port Adelaide coach Josh Carr was unsure about why the Power were caught short with interchange rotations late in its game against West Coast.

Speaking post game, Carr confirmed it was something that would be looked into after the Power used their full allotment of rotations with four minutes still remaining in the game.

"That was more around the cramp stuff. (Zak Butters) came off towards the end and we only ended up with one rotation left so we will have a look at it and find out why we ended up with the low number," Carr said.

"Maybe off the back of the short break and travel and a big game as far as pressure goes from both teams."

The Power players were visibly out on their feet late in the game, forced to defend for most of the last quarter.

The victory follows Port Adelaide losing four games so far this season by six points or less, with Carr pleased with his side's ability to absorb pressure and withstand an Eagles onslaught in the last quarter.

"We stood up. There was a number of contests that looked dangerous for us and we probably didn't get kick versus handball right at times," Carr said.

"We had a number of guys cramping so in the end to get the win and grind it out and walk away with the four points is what we needed to do."
